About Us
We are a purpose built centre in Green Valley in Sydney's South Western suburbs. Under the guidance of Director, Catherine Hustler, we care for children aged 18 months to school age. Catherine is a much loved Early Childhood Educator with over 20 years experience in the industry and works hands-on in our classrooms.
We pride ourselves on our reputation as being a small, friendly centre that operates to high standards. We maintain an environment that supports happy educators and happy children. Our qualified educators aim to provide learning experiences that meet individual needs and interests of the children all in a safe, clean and engaging environment.
Here at Teddy's Little Treasures two days are never the same. The children are provided with learning experiences that are age, and developmentally appropriate. We also advocate safe play. Safe play is where children are inspired to take safe risks - both emotionally and physically, this is essential in developing resilience.
We encourage critical thinking at a young age. As children explore their environment it is extremely important for them to be challenged in every aspect of their learning, according to their ability. We achieve this by implementing activities that spark curiosity, creativity, and ingenuity. The aim is to stimulate a healthy disposition for learning with skilled educators who are here to support the children throughout their educational journey at Teddy's.
We understand the importance of the development of early language and literacy skills, and because of this, our centre participates in the '12 Books for Twelve Months' program; this program has been specifically designed by local speech pathologists and early childhood teachers to develop both language and literacy skills in young children who will be transitioning to 'big school '.
Additionally, our preschoolers participate in the ELLA (Early Learning Languages Australia) program. This engaging program provides a fun and interactive way of learning. With this hands-on interactive program the children learn to speak simple words using the Italian language, and they further their literacy skills whilst using Reading Eggs.
Physical activity is important to us here at Teddy's and all of our educators refer to, and implement, NSW Health's 'Munch and Move' program into the daily routine; this is further strengthened by our external sports programs such as, JNA Sports and Soccajoeys who visit our centre on a weekly basis - these two particular programs do incur an additional fee.
Please be advised, however, that all external programs have been suspended due to Covid restrictions until further notice.
